The timing of the emergence of these items is unpredictable and constantly possible. The current search paradigm captures one moment in time and allows users to search for items of interest which have emerged up until that moment. The Ferret™ is an application developed by a graduate student at the University of Washington, which provides a service allowing clients to constantly passively monitor key sources on the Internet for actionable items of interest, automatically alerting the client immediately upon discovery.
